8 Day Itinerary
Here’s a look at what your 8-day South Africa adventure will look like — from the city lights of Cape Town to the wild beauty of the Garden Route and the cliffs of the Whale Coast. It’s a trip filled with golden sunsets, wildlife encounters, and those spontaneous moments that make travel so special.
Day 1 (Apr 6): Welcome to Cape Town
Welcome to South Africa! Once you land at Cape Town International Airport, our driver will be waiting to take you straight to Romney Park All Suite Hotel & Spa, your home for the next few nights. We’ll spend the afternoon settling in, maybe grab a coffee nearby, and take in that first view of Table Mountain — it never gets old.
In the evening, we’ll all meet up for our welcome dinner, get to know each other, and chat about what’s to come over the next 8 days. (D)
Day 2 (Apr 7): Cape of Good Hope Adventure
Today we’ll set off on one of the most scenic drives in the world — down the Cape Peninsula. Expect coastal cliffs, turquoise water, and plenty of photo stops along the way.
We’ll visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, standing right where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Keep your eyes peeled for ostriches, baboons, and wild coastal birds. It’s one of those “pinch-me” moments you never forget. (B, L)
Day 3 (Apr 8): Culture & Colour in Bo-Kaap
After breakfast, we’ll explore the colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood, one of Cape Town’s most iconic areas. We’ll visit the Bo-Kaap Museum, learn about its rich history, and maybe stop for a quick bite at one of our favorite local spots. The rest of the afternoon is yours — relax by the pool, explore the V&A Waterfront, or take the cable car up Table Mountain if the weather’s good. (B)
Day 4 (Apr 9): Penguins & Coastal Views
No trip to Cape Town is complete without meeting the locals — the adorable African penguins at Boulders Beach! We’ll spend the morning watching them waddle around the sand before enjoying a relaxed afternoon drive along the coast. It’s our final night in Cape Town before we start the road trip, so maybe we’ll grab dinner together with a view of the ocean. (B, D)
Day 5 (Apr 10): Safari at Garden Route Game Lodge
Today the adventure shifts gears — we’re heading out on safari! After breakfast, we’ll drive to Garden Route Game Lodge, where the wild truly begins. This evening, we’ll head out on our first game drive to spot elephants, rhinos, lions, and maybe even a giraffe or two. Dinner will be served under the stars — the perfect ending to an unforgettable day. (B, D)
Day 6 (Apr 11): Forests & Ocean Views in Tsitsikamma
After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to the savanna and make our way toward Tsitsikamma National Park, a region known for its lush forests and dramatic coastline. We’ll check in at Misty Mountain Reserve, a peaceful lodge overlooking the ocean. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax or take a short walk along the Storms River suspension bridge, one of South Africa’s most iconic spots. It’s one of those evenings where you slow down, take in the sound of the waves, and realize how special this place really is. (B, D)
Day 7 (Apr 12): Welcome to Plettenberg Bay
Today we’ll continue along the famous Garden Route to Plettenberg Bay, a coastal town surrounded by beaches, cliffs, and nature reserves. We’ll check in at Lairds Lodge Country Estate, a charming spot perfectly located between the sea and the forest. The afternoon is free — you can walk along Robberg Nature Reserve, relax at the beach, or simply unwind by the pool before we regroup for dinner together. (B, D)
Day 8 (Apr 13): Plettenberg Bay at Your Own Pace
A slow morning by the coast — breakfast, ocean breeze, and no rush. You can spend the day exploring more of Plett’s natural beauty: maybe kayaking along the lagoon, visiting local markets, or just soaking up the sunshine. In the evening, we’ll share our final dinner on the Garden Route — good food, laughter, and a few stories from the past week. (B, D)
Day 9 (Apr 14): Back to Cape Town
After breakfast, we’ll make our scenic drive back to Cape Town, where we’ll spend one last night together at Rosedene Guest House. It’s a relaxed evening — maybe one last dinner in the city or a sunset walk before we wrap up an unforgettable week in South Africa. (B)
Day 10 (Apr 15): Departure Day
After breakfast, we’ll transfer you back to Cape Town International Airport for your flight home. We’ll say our goodbyes here — but we have a feeling the friendships (and the stories) will last long after the trip ends. (B)
